The Holy Spirit in Intentional Community

A Sermon From Pentecost by Demarius Walker, Program Director.

There are three ways to be part of the Faith at the Crossroads community, with opportunities for each group to interact in intentional and meaningful ways.

Fellows: Young adults from all around the country commit to 10 months of service through the Episcopal service corps. Fellows are placed to serve with a nonprofit agency and provided a monthly stipend, healthcare, and a robust support structure. Fellows participate in a formation program. Each Fellow is given their own room and lives in St. Benedict House, with all expenses covered.

Residents: We invite young adults (aged 21-35) to make commitments of at least two years to live in community alongside service corps Fellows in the St. Benedict House under a shared rule of life based on the 12 Habits of a Reconciler. Monthly rental rates: $600, including utilities.

Neighbors: Young adults in Indianapolis and the surrounding communities are invited to come alongside the Fellows and Residents for retreats, workshops, and events such as:

    • Clapham Circles: monthly intergenerational liberation theology exploration group

    • Theology Movie: monthly movie and discussion night at the St. Benedict House

    • Young Adult Brunch

    • Seasonal Retreats

    • Service and outreach projects

    • Annual Peace and Justice Pilgrimage
